Woollahra heritage rules
Woollahra Council says repainting a heritage item or a building in a heritage conservation area may not need development consent, but only once council has confirmed in writing, before work starts, that the work is minor or maintenance. Its guide covers painting traditionally painted surfaces, not face brick, stonework, tiles or other surfaces that were never painted.
